about

Craobhacha is a collaboration between Síomha and American-Irish group the olllam (Tyler Duncan, Michael Shimmin, John McSherry and Joe Dart). Craobhacha is the song that planted the seed for what became Síomha’s debut album ‘Infinite Space’. It was the first creative collaboration between Síomha and producer Tyler Duncan.

lyrics

CRAOBHACHA
Ag éisteacht leis an ngáire, ba mhaith leotha níos mó
Is ná bac leis na torthaí, titfidh sé amach gan stró
Chuirfeadh do ghreann ortha ar aon duine beo
Ach ligim ort an brat anuas

Tágaim chugat anois, a ghrá, le gach dea rún
Ach tá sé taobh thall de mo chumas, nach dtuigeann tú
Sa tóir ar thearmann uaigneach, ar an mbóthar úd
Ach chuamar ar strae

Ní mian do chroí mé
Crá mo chléibh is ea é, a ghortaíonn tú
Ach sí an fhírinne atá uaim

Tá geimhreadh eachtrach caite, is scaoilte uainn
D’fhan sé ‘ bhfad ró-fhada, cosúil liom fhéin
Cuireann tú an locht orm, is mé faoi chian
I ndúluachair go deo

Folaíonn tú na craobhacha ó chrainn neamhbheo
Ní fhreagródh siad sinne, go brách go deo
Ach gheobhaimidne éisteacht ó chrann na ndeor
A dhreapas fhéinigh uair nó dhó

BRANCHES
Come hurry hear the laughter, they want some more
Don’t worry for the aftermath; we’ve seen it before
Your styles and smiles could charm the heart of anyone
But I draw curtain on you now

My heart sits at the table with good intent
But my head is just not able for what you said
We had the chance to dance the dance of solitude
But we got tangled on the way

I can’t be what you want
This hurts me just as much as it hurts you
But I will always find the truth

The winter was eventful, we let her be
She far outstayed her welcome, just like me
You may complain that I’m to blame, I’m worrisome
I feel my winters never end

Go hide away the branches from trees long dead
They never gave the answers we thought we’d get
This tree of tears will lend an ear to anyone
I’ve climbed it once or twice before
